Apartments & villas
A private villa with pool is the dream for many people but apartments make alot of sense
Apartments are a popular choice with British buyers. Firstly, they are normally cheaper than villas. They are also more convenient as maintenance and communal gardens are taken care of. Complexes may have security and shared facilities, such a swimming pool and tennis courts. This makes them particularly popular holiday-lets, and they can provide good rental returns.
Communal facilities and maintenance are paid for by a monthly service charge. Known as an aidat in Turkish, this may include the cost of communal heating in winter. There is often a caretaker or kapici living on-site.
Apartments are typically 65-125 m2 in size and may have a balcony or terrace.
Prices vary within a development; the top floors may have a view and sell at a premium. Ground floor units may be darker, but direct access to a garden can add to their desirability and value.
Villas are available in all the coastal resorts. They vary greatly from little more than concrete boxes, to stunning luxury homes with marble flooring and infinity pools. Villas generally have a garden and offer lots of privacy. However, up-keep can be expensive, particularly if they are empty for most of the year. Buying a villa on a complex removes many of these drawbacks.
